Interesting situation. We were playing with ХВ rules. The opponent outsmarted me and ran away. When I asked how he managed to escape, he replied, "You cast everything first, following the rules." Well, okay, maybe the opponent wasn't aware of hit-and-run tactics. But how did the ХВ rules allow that?
