Why are 5 and 4 added together, but 3 is not? It doesn't make sense.

I looked through that post and found a comment from Hekasan, which refutes the possibility that this is his first original map.

The content of the posts is already too much, even for a Master. If he has returned to his old, recidivist tendencies, he probably only meant the presence or absence of messages in the relevant topics.
