Einstein is popular only because he helped the Americans create a nuclear warhead; he's not that great of a scientist.
To make the irony clear, I'll say that Einstein received the Nobel Prize much earlier and not for that reason, and that he was only indirectly involved in the development of the nuclear bomb.
