Well, yes, Ukraine buys gas from Russia, and Russia buys Ukrainian goods. The more such connections – "I owe" – "I am owed" – in economic, cultural, and sporting terms, with different countries, the more reliable and independent the state's position becomes. A country with many such connections cannot be subjugated. This is painful for the entire global community.
It seems Russia only trades with Ukraine and no one else, which is why the gas prices for us are the highest. All that's left is to permanently assign the fleet and declare "we cannot be defeated."
