The speed of all flying units will be increased by 2 (and their damage will be slightly reduced). Thus:
- the speed of small infantry is 3-5, flyers will have 5-7
- the speed of large infantry is 4-6, flyers will have 6-8
That is, infantry will always be inferior to flyers in mobility, as the class requires.
Therefore, the concept of reduced speeds in the mod should be read as the concept of reduced infantry speeds, against which flyers stand out.
Previously, I was concerned that speeds above 6 would break the game and all maneuvers, but practical tests have shown that this adds extra excitement and variety without breaking the tactics, provided that fast units (flyers) do NOT dominate the battlefield and act as exceptional units, and can also be blocked by heavy-class troops (none of this is true in the original).
In short, I don’t see any obstacles preventing the return of true flyers to the game, their exception only emphasizing the general rule of low speeds!
Currently, improvements are also being made to another class of units – casters. Casters receive expanded spellbooks (the average number of spells has increased from 2 to 3), and they also have more mana for spellcasting overall, so many units will have enough for 2-3 casts.
