There's nothing inherently wrong with it; dark themes can be used in moderation. When used judiciously, they can add new dimensions and nuances to the game. You wouldn't condemn Bulgakov and Bortko for including several scenes with a certain "erotic" slant in the film "The Master and Margarita," would you? Or Tolkien for depicting Morgoth torturing an elven prince and cutting off his hand in "The Silmarillion." The key is not to overdo it.
And so what if Alex Soldier was involved? We're not competing companies. And our recruitment systems seem to be different.
