Current questions and answers regarding the map editor.
Maya 6 seems to work. In general, if I'm thinking clearly, there are just incorrect designations. The export there corresponds to the import in reverse... That is, after clicking the "export" button and specifying the path to the .mb file, this model ends up in the game's resources. Not without the help of Maya, of course. There is detailed information about this on the psatkha website.
And also, is it possible to open bin files, those with the landscape, not in the editor?
Try to figure it out in a text editor; maybe there is a simple structure (although, according to my modest observations, it is not simple, and the extension itself hints at this). As for special software, I doubt it. Unless there is one – an alternative random map generator for Heroes of Might and Magic. You can discuss this with its author; he should know.
