Good afternoon. I am very interested in the following question: how do you change the lighting in maps?
On some maps (all from the campaign), the lighting is very beautiful, the textures look rich and vibrant, but on many official scenarios and maps created by private mapmakers, the textures look dull.
I would really like to try to fix this in the map editor.
I think I found the answer on heroescommunity:
H6 map editor - light settings
To adjust the light intensity (daylight, underground darkness,...), you must use the 6th menu - something like General settings (6th button in the right tools window, after Terraforming, Terrain painting, Entity editing, Entity library & Lights - and before Cutscene editor).
In this window:
- in the first section [Sets], in the last drop-down list, select "Light",
- then, in the section [Light] (9th section), there is a sub-section [Terrain light]
In this [Terrain light] sub-section, adjusting the parameters "Color multiplier" and "Diffuse multiplier" changes the light intensity of the map (surface or underground, depending on the map you are working on).
For example, for the map "Brimstones gold", these parameters are:
- for surface: color multiplier = 2.15 / diffuse multiplier = 1
- for underground: color multiplier = 1.55 / diffuse multiplier = 0
