WinRAR can easily read Heroes game files with the .xdb extension and can even be used to edit them.
Hmm, it prompts me to open it with a program specifically designed for that file extension... But I don't rule anything out, as Far Manager has the same creator, and it opens both text files and RAR archives, so it's possible that WinRAR can do the same. But I would use a proven method.
I've been playing a campaign in Tribes of the East v3.1 for quite some time now, but I have the EWA v1.0 mod installed, and I'm wondering if it will work in the standard 3.1 version. I don't add any custom units or anything to the maps, but just in case, the mod is quite extensive...
You need to test it. I think it will work, but you'll have to adjust the balance significantly.
