And I personally have a question for Nagan - what's the point of them even playing? They didn't win the CIS region together, so why aren't the others playing, only Pete and Stinger?

This was a club tournament, not a CIS championship, but it was of decent quality, although a couple of Moscow players should have been ashamed not to come, even if they weren't going to play, just to socialize. Yama, Stinger, and Mega Pes managed to make it, although they all have kids.:smile20:

The Moscow tournament hardly qualifies as a "CIS" event. But there's a key difference compared to the "CIS" event in Odessa. SOD and VT. In the future, if SOD tournaments continue, this could develop into two good tournaments. Whether it's "CIS" or not.

That's not quite right. The CIS version is determined by the players themselves. Why do 70% of VT players attend the CIS event? If SOD enthusiasts were attending, it would be a SOD event. The tournament isn't tied to a specific version.

I have a slightly different perspective on this. VT players always make a lot of noise and issue ultimatums, so although the tournaments were initially conceived as joint TE and SOD events, they have become only TE-VT.
In Michurinsk, Mizrael, Scorp, Vitalik, and Leha qualified through the qualifiers, but they didn't play in the true TE tournament. I don't believe that VT and SOD will play together in the same tournament in Odessa. As someone rightly said: "Because the best players are VT players. And SoD is crap."

At one time, people traveled to Krasnodar specifically to see how Chaos, the most famous Moscow player, would play against Antal, the legendary Peter player. They were expected in the final, but both were eliminated, one lost in the eighth round to Uncle Fedor, and the other in the quarterfinal to Bishop, they played in an Olympic format.
