Since you've found yourself in such a mess and consider yourself innocent, in your place, instead of beating around the bush, I would try to understand the mechanics of save timestamps. And gather proof of your non-involvement in maphacking. Or at least mitigate the guilt as much as possible. I once had a similar situation, and after spending a lot of time, I managed to find the cause and evidence.
But for now, your defense position boils down to "Everyone is full of sh*t, and I'm Viktor Tsoi."
