Yes, blindness is a cunning spell; it's best used when the unicorn, manticore, or ghost dragon's skill activates. Maybe I'm not explaining myself clearly; I just know from experience that a battle lasts 3-4 rounds, and whoever attacks first, even in the second round, has a better chance of eliminating the enemy's army. Also, various unexpected good morale and luck can help end the battle much sooner. Personally, I often had cases where my opponent and I simply used speed-up and slow-down spells.
