So who is this lawgiver then? Newton? or maybe after all it's God - the general designer of nature, of this universe. Or maybe such a complex structure as the universe formed on its own?
And you, like, think that God is the general designer of this universe? No, I'm not against faith, faith in itself is a useful thing, if of course it isn't perverted by all sorts of sectarian movements and doesn't go beyond the bounds of normal human ethics. To believe or not to believe is everyone's right. For me, faith is most likely a state of the soul, faith in the triumph of justice, faith in honor, dignity, kindness, compassion. Faith in the good sense of the word helps in moments of despair, gives strength in moments of weakness, but all this is personal, it's inside, it's only mine. When you talk about God, you are no longer talking about faith, but about religion — a special form of understanding the world, conditioned by belief in the supernatural, which includes a set of moral norms and types of behavior, rituals, cultic actions, and the unification of people into organizations (church, religious community) — and this is what is personally alien to me. Religion was invented by people and invented primarily in order to usurp faith, to subjugate the masses. I don't think I'll be original or open your eyes when I say that for religion, because of religion, and in the name of religion, throughout the entire history of mankind, far more people have died and been destroyed than in all wars combined, and they continue to be destroyed to this day. Crusaders in the name of God destroyed hundreds of thousands of Muslims, Muslims in the name of Allah destroyed hundreds of thousands of Christians and Jews, Catholics mutually destroyed Huguenots, Sunnis continue to mutually destroy Shias, the list could go on and on. People invented God, and people killed in the name of God, which is why — for me personally, faith and religion are different things. Returning to the quote from your post, God cannot be the general designer of nature, much less of this universe, for one simple reason: he was invented by people. As people evolved, the dealers of religion moved God further and further away, opposing science and progress in every way because they understood that sooner or later they would have to explain where he had gone; in the end, God was relocated to heaven, but the 20th century arrived, the era of space exploration, and alas, to the misfortune of religious figures, no traces of God's habitation were found in space. I am in no way trying to prove anything to anyone; I am for faith in the good sense of the word, as they say, blessed is he who believes, but one can and should believe without religious fanaticism and obscurantism. As for spelling, I've always been tolerant of people who make three mistakes in a three-letter word on a fence, but I didn't much care for people who make one mistake in a complex word and then take a stance demanding proof of why it should be written that way and who even invented this spelling. If you follow the logic of these people, you could run a red light, run over and kill a person, get out of the car, and demand to carpet the person who invented the damn traffic rules.
