It's hard to compare, but I personally prefer the ones from the third game. Although the fifth game has excellent unit animations, especially for Liches. Regarding similarities and differences: Gargoyles – they look good in both games. Zombies – they will be worse in the fifth game. Vampires – in the third game, they look too menacing. Hydras – the third game wins.
