I've been playing HOMMV since its release, and TE since version 4.8 (I'm not a pro player, but an enthusiastic amateur). I can confidently say that it makes sense to start playing with the TE mod right away. All the shortcomings of the original become obvious as your skill level grows; I wouldn't play the original now, it's not interesting. I suggest holding a tournament, like a "New Recruit Course," using the TE mod.

That's exactly what I'm talking about. I haven't met anyone who, after understanding the TE mod and playing enough games, went back to the original.
The tournament should be for beginners, using TE. If not enough people participate, so be it. In general, Leolopus's idea is the right one: with two groups – beginners and experienced players. The winners of each group compete in the final. Ban the "veterans" from this tournament. :smile13:
