Water magic contains not only Blessing! :) There are a lot of very useful spells, so a warrior hero should definitely learn it! Healing, Remove Curse, Weakness, Amnesia, Prayer, Clone, Teleport... On single-player maps, Summon Boat (sometimes it's necessary to create it from nothing, which requires at least advanced water magic) and Walk on Water are also often valuable.
