Let me explain it simply. In the previous game, the Sheriff was VERY popular on the first night. Now, before the game, we joked that everyone would go to the Sheriff at night. And if you read the newspaper, the first paragraph reveals that the Reaper wasted his vote, meaning he thought everyone would come to him at night and die. Therefore, there is a high probability that the Sheriff is the Reaper.
