Stronghold vs. Necropolis

I actually won against a player using that tactic. I cast Subjugation on the Cyclops and then used their ability, wiping out Centaurs, Harpies, and crushing them all in one hit, and the attack was also a lucky one. He took a lot of damage, and then Liches and Weaver were added to the Cyclops.

Again, if the opponent places a sacrifice unit for the Vampires, then shooting at the Liches becomes pointless.

After such an opening move, the battle with the Orcs is essentially already lost. There are two clear mistakes made by the opponent: a) he positioned his troops so that the Cyclops could attack three stacks at once; b) in response to Subjugation, he didn't cast a spell to increase resistance to magic.
If he had used Inner Flame, the Cyclops would have gone before even the Vampires, and that's the most initiative-heavy undead stack.
