Oh, come on, it’s much ado about nothing, Lordi. Who needs it? Think about it: neither I nor many other Christians who believe in the immortality of the soul, and even representatives of other religions who believe in the same thing, need it at all. And for those who don’t believe in the soul, it’s not entirely clear why it’s needed either, because for them, a person is practically no different from a very sophisticated mechanism, right? And what difference does it make if the mechanism works longer than it should or not? It worked for as long as it was supposed to, and that’s enough; old equipment is eventually written off and replaced with new equipment.
