Just for curiosity, here are some statistics about the Elves.

Personally, I like elves, but I don't like how they are portrayed in most worlds. I don't like these androgynous friends of the forest; I don't like that type. Why do I like elves? Well, I can only say that it's because of their pointed ears, eternal (or quite long) youth, and possibly their inclination towards magic.

Love for nature is good, and androgyny is bad. But I can't say that I dislike the "implementation" because the implementation can vary. For example, in Heroes of Might and Magic V, it's quite well done. I won't even mention Tolkien's classics; there, elves had a wide variety of appearances and characters because there were many elven nationalities. Accordingly, I like SOME implementations, and I don't like others.
