Based on this statement, the characters in any work (whether it's an anime series or a game) with a fantasy theme should be dressed identically and differ only in facial features, without having any distinctive details.

The clothing should simply be a) decent and b) comfortable for combat. In the case of, for example, your elf avatar, it makes sense for her to wear chainmail (light, elven, but covering the entire body from arrows) and a dress (but not too low-cut, otherwise it will be inconvenient to move around), or perhaps a cloak with a hood. This clothing can have any design (although it's better to use colors that blend with the environment, but it's not necessary) and a lot of different trinkets, pendants, and necklaces. So there are many options, and it will be beautiful, but decent and practical.
