I don't know, I'm already tired of stories about difficult childhoods. Honestly, a companion who had a happy childhood, without any traumas in their youth, would be much more interesting than a constantly suffering Jack.

And even more interesting would be a companion with a difficult childhood, but without a spoiled character. Sometimes in movies/literature there are such characters, and they are almost always very well-written and likeable.
