Aren't all angels winged?
Sometimes they are not. But even if an angel's wings are cut off in a battle against the unrighteous, he will still be an angel, just not a winged one. However, if we consider "winged" in a spiritual sense, he will always be winged, because he is an Angel, and only "nothingness" can break his spirit.
As for the castle, I sometimes enjoy playing as the winged faction... They are powerful.
