I've always found it difficult to imagine Prayer, Clone, and Teleport as spells of Water Magic, just as City Portal as a spell of Earth Magic, and Lightning Strike as a spell of Air Magic.
In general, the developers' idea is understandable – to balance the relevance of the magical schools, but still...
Prayer, Clone, Teleport, and City Portal are essentially spells of Air Magic, as they are directly related to influencing space or through space.
Lightning Strike is a natural phenomenon in the form of a cluster of fire element, and therefore it is directly related to Fire Magic.

City Portal belongs to Earth Magic because it transports a hero from one point on the ground to another specific point on the ground, i.e., to a city, and not to a randomly chosen location.
Clone belongs to Water Magic because living beings are more than half composed of water. Moreover, the material for the clone, judging by its appearance, is water.
Lightning is not fire, but an electrical discharge (a flow of electrons).
Lightning in Air Magic looks quite normal. After all, it is in the air that we observe it. Rain is not at all necessary for lightning, and artificial lightning can be created even without clouds.
But Prayer and especially Teleport didn't turn out well.
Teleport in battle is similar to the Dimension Door spell on the adventure map, but they are somehow in different magic schools.
Prayer, in essence, contains three slightly weakened spells from three different schools of magic (Haste - Air Magic, Stone Skin - Earth Magic, Bloodlust - Fire Magic). So, where should it be placed? And so, it was placed in the fourth school. And in general, judging by the spells (Bless, Cure, Prayer, Dispel Magic), Water Magic would be better called Light Magic or Holy Magic.
And we should not forget about the balance among the different schools of magic.
Here I have outlined my personal opinion on these "inconsistencies" regarding the affiliation of spells to a specific school of magic.
