Which Might and Magic universe are you referring to?

1) In my opinion, Ubisoft had only one problem from the very beginning – they chose to go their own way instead of continuing the story of Might and Magic 1-9, and Heroes 1-4. And by doing so, they alienated all the fans of the old games.

And they did the right thing. Perhaps the old world was better, but continuing its story would have meant coming up with yet another apocalypse or some other nonsense of that kind, which would only have ruined the old world and everything else. Starting with a clean slate is a perfectly logical solution.
