I really liked the fort system. Now, taking over enemy resources and other goodies is no longer so trivial. Either capture a fort, or stay in a cave, or cry from helplessness. And this, by the way, is logical. Let's imagine it in real life: you wandered into enemy territory, captured a cave with a resource, and started mining... but what about delivery? How will you send caravans from deep behind enemy lines to your capital? Exactly. And now, while in the cave, you are essentially dealing with this tricky thing called logistics.
