Vampires: do you believe in them?

Well, if we're being serious, I don't believe in vampires either. I'm more interested in another question: why do so many cultures have legends about vampires, ghouls, and revenants? About creatures that rise from the dead and feed on the blood of living people? (With slight variations depending on local conditions). I think there's a reason for that. )))

Imagine yourself fishing in the 17th century. Nearby is a peasant village with lots of livestock. There are no repellents. I think that after being "treated" by insects like that, you would believe in vampires.

But I certainly don't believe in the actual existence of vampires; I'm an atheist, and therefore I'm skeptical of everything in that category.

Actually, Orthodox Christians are not supposed to believe in vampires, witches (in the European sense of the word, not in the Russian sense, i.e., women who know about medicinal herbs), or aliens.
