What other games are you playing?

I've been playing CivV a bit again, and I like it. What is it about Steam that spoils the impression?

The fact that I don same absolutely no need for it, yet it eats up gigamegabytes of Internet and RAM, and you can't delete it, otherwise Civ won't launch.
