Is it worth changing the Punishment System on the forums to one that results in a permanent ban?

Replace the period of "eternity" in relation to a ban with a period of "month." Ask the creator to arrange it so that when a repentant user exits a ban, the system deducts a certain number of points (25, for example; I think that's enough for relative freedom).
