It seems to me that any atheist a priori does not allow for the possibility that they might be wrong, because if that were the case, they wouldn't be called an atheist. The same is true for believers. Are they all fools? Perhaps, I even find this thought appealing.

I didn't quite express myself correctly. Of course, everyone thinks they are right. But in an argument, intelligent people try to abstract themselves from their own rightness as much as possible and speak as objectively as possible.

I disagree with that. Unless, of course, you can provide some real-life example.
