In theory, there cannot be any hypotheses that contradict the theory itself, which provides a clear answer to the movement of objects at the speed of light. This is not entirely correct. The fundamental principle is the relativity of time. The fact that we get a negative number under the root at speeds greater than the speed of light does not mean anything yet. Remember the imaginary exponent: it can always be expressed through a combination of sines and cosines – real numbers.
And also: I specifically emphasized the word "general." Lorentz transformations and all these roots are fundamental to the special theory of relativity, but the general theory speaks of the curvature of space under the influence of gravity; here, you can come up with and imagine many new things. By the way, in the same Wikipedia, there is something about this, although it is not the best source.
