I'm more interested in why Robert Fischer, after waking up on the plane, doesn't remember that the people next to him were in his dream.

People generally don't remember most of their dreams, and even those they do remember, they don't remember very clearly. Probably, if he did remember the dream, it was only in terms of images and ideas.
And here's something else that's unclear to me. Was the girl the architect on all levels, or was each person on their own level, or were they all working together? I remember the ventilation system at the mountain base, but that was the heir's dream, obtained through a projection of his mind. Whose ventilation system was it? His addition, or, if I remember correctly, Aimes', as he was the formal architect of that layer? And why were they looking for a girl for that role in the first place? For the first level?
