But the spider still inspires fear! And the praying mantis doesn't.
In my opinion, a spider inspires fear only in women. And even then, not all of them. However, people are wary of venomous spiders because no one wants to be bitten. But that doesn't necessarily mean fear. In the same way, people are wary of bees and cars when crossing the road. But who can say that they are terrified of cars? So, I believe that a giant spider and a giant praying mantis are fantasies of the same kind. Not the best kind.
