you can't do this - it's a bug! I played against a Bulgarian, and he was moving without an army; I told him then that it's a bug and you can't take the last warrior!!!

But how do you take the last unit in SoD? I know some ways, for example, ending up with no troops—resurrecting completely wiped squads without land production/expansion, giving away all troops for a quest/passage... As far as I understand, you can't leave a hero without troops through simple transfer
