Our New Era

Well, personally, I consider myself to be part of the latter half of the second wave. Never mind, that's not what we're talking about.
A new era? Who knows? If you think about it, those same stagecoaches could theoretically have been improved indefinitely. But the automobile was invented, and they were forgotten. Who could have foreseen such a turn of events back then? Well, maybe fantasists and dreamers, but even they probably wouldn't have imagined it exactly like this. The internet has made a fantastic leap, absorbing tens of thousands of people. Perhaps this will continue to develop. Perhaps everything will remain as it is now. Perhaps something fundamentally new will be invented. Or perhaps it will simply be forgotten, like an old and outdated toy, and people will only draw information from it. I can't say. For now, it's hard to imagine the internet as such a monumental part of our lives that a person would spend, say, 25 years of conscious life in it. And it sounds daunting and unfamiliar.
Let's see how things turn out.
