"Mapmaker 2010" Contest

I probably won't be able to create anything worthwhile (even if I participate), but I have some questions.

From February 1, 2010 – the start of the mapmaking competition;
March 7, 2010 – the end of the mapmaking competition;

Essentially, an "advanced" mapmaker can start working as soon as the competition is announced.
Or am I misunderstanding something?
Or will the person who notices the competition announcement first and starts working have more time?

Maybe it would be better if participants registered here, in the thread; it would be visible to everyone how many people have registered, and maybe it would increase interest in the competition.

Because the maps will be nameless anyway, and whoever needs to and wants to will understand/say whose map it is, and no one will find out – again, if they want to. === We can also add the map styles to this, from which you can draw information.
