I probably won't be able to create anything worthwhile (even if I participate), but I have some questions.
From February 1, 2010 – the start of the mapmaking competition; March 7, 2010 – the end of the mapmaking competition;
Essentially, an "advanced" mapmaker can start working as soon as the competition is announced. Or am I misunderstanding something? Or will the person who notices the competition announcement first and starts working have more time?
Maybe it would be better if participants registered here, in the thread; it would be visible to everyone how many people have registered, and maybe it would increase interest in the competition.
I also think so. Because the maps will be nameless anyway, and whoever needs to and wants to will understand/say whose map it is, and no one will find out – again, if they want to. === We can also add the map styles to this, from which you can draw information.
