The law of perversity... I remember, the succubi in Legend were especially annoying when I was playing with an army consisting entirely of dwarves :) Back then, I wouldn't have minded running around with succubi and hellhounds myself, but now I'm unlikely to take demons - they've reduced their ability to resurrect :(
I don't remember, I think I managed to resurrect succubi with a paladin, or am I confusing something :o They annoy me regardless of the composition of my squad, they always try to drag an archer/elf squad into the thick of it, and they also dodge all the arrows.
But with swordsmen and guards - it's a different story - everyone will miss them if less than half of the squad remains. It's annoying sometimes, but not as much - there were more problems with knights and paladins...
As if I don't know when they miss :D That's what's so annoying - there's only a little left to chop them up, but no, they dodge and dodge. Paladins are one of those "try to hit one" types, but they're slow, so I don't have many problems with them - you set up a wall and shoot from a distance. But trolls really caused a lot of problems. It turned out in one battle that I reached them last, and these malicious creatures already had an attack of almost a hundred instead of the base 50, so I had to shoot from behind walls. Since then, I've tried to kill them early.
Exactly, they have three advantages right away: a good archer, a sleep-inducing arrow (I wonder, can you put enemies of level 5 to sleep?), and, of course, hypnosis. It was especially funny in a battle with a demon on Dersu to control the executioners and watch them hit each other 5 times due to their ability :D
They didn't make it to the demon on Dersu, but I tried them on other creatures, and I was satisfied with the result :D
I can't stand Bronteros myself. I can block the same succubi or shamans with magic shackles - and that's great, but these have mind resistance  Luckily, their initiative is small, otherwise they would immediately charge...
They won't break through with a charge - they dig in and stab everyone with their fangs (I just don't understand how a small triceratops manages to plow the entire battlefield). It's even harder to kill those who have dug in than those who haven't. In general, they are not a unit, but a whole bunch of problems for the enemy squad. Even goblins and chos don't annoy me that much. The first can be hit with a couple of kicks, and the main thing with the second is not to get too close.
