in my opinion, it's a bit unfair, even if it's somewhat amusing.
Of course, it turns out to be interesting, but it's not fair.

Let's say you planned which faction to use for the first round of the playoffs.
But in the end, you might not even get to play with it in the tournament.
And why is that?
Because someone dropped out of the tournament; there aren't any other reasons.
In my opinion, could it be done differently?
If you planned it, then let the player remove the unnecessary faction themselves?
At the very least, state the arguments for why you didn't do it this way (the owner decides, not random chance).
