Well, changing the appearance of an Orc (which happens in every installment) is one thing, and replacing an Orc with a different unit is another... there's a difference, isn't there?
The spirit isn't in the form of troops and castles, IMHO.
They also have their own history, which begins with the Ironfists (although I don't remember the first one very well) and continues in all four parts...
In the third one, there are also a lot of references. Only Gem reminded a little of the past at the beginning of the campaign.
By the way, the story has reached the fifth one, it's just flowing.
Moreover, the Orcs now live in the steppes, the mages in the desert, etc.
It's better to not connect anything at all than to connect it like that.
It's like making a movie, and then making a sequel to the movie, but replacing the characters, the plot, the history... hehe, you could turn Terminator into Transformers that way) there are robots in both.
The spirit isn't in the form of troops and castles, IMHO.
Yeah, and again, like in the third one, this hero is a loser, he's useless, but this one is cool, and this one is a total cheater, he should be banned. They stepped on the same rake again, IMHO.
But Chaos in the fourth one initially has no tactics!!11
And Life is a cheater!!11
and so on :)
1-3 were original. They had their own world, their own ideology. In the fifth one, none of this exists. Just ordinary fantasy. That's the proof.
"ordinary fantasy"
And 1-3 were "unusual fantasy" then. What is "TE"? They are original to a certain extent. Of course, they borrowed from D&D, but not so much that it's completely obvious. They also have their own charisma.
P.S. I'm ending the discussion here, and I advise you to do the same.
