Regarding GameRanger - it doesn't support The Shadow of Death or In the Wake of Gods, which means it also doesn't support The Succession Wars. There's no rating system, and I couldn't find any game statistics. There are no separate lobbies for games. Install IGZ and compare them. Anyway, you can switch to it if you want, I don't mind.
IGZ launches games slower, for example, Age of Empires launches in about 10 seconds on IGZ, and less than 2 seconds on GameRanger.
