Heroes of Might and Magic II Gold Edition: Mods, programming activities.

I don't know if this topic is still relevant, but I've always wanted to try a completely new mod that would enhance the graphics and other aspects of the second Heroes game. I really love this game. And I've always thought that the ideal heroes should look like a mix of the second and third games. That is, everything that's missing in the second and third games should be poured into a separate game and called "Heroes VI":)) 2D, of course, no obvious 3D! I want to ask if the project is progressing or, as often happens, has it died? I hope for an answer, because the fate of the second Heroes is important to me!
