Dream Theater is a progressive metal band from the USA, founded in 1986 by three students at the Berklee College of Music. Dream Theater are one of the founders and most well-known representatives of the "progressive metal" genre. The band's music is characterized by its unusual song structures, complex instrumental parts, and high level of musicianship.
