Let's come up with an amphibian race!

I propose a description of how the race is structured. The Neptunes are descendants of the inhabitants of Tatallia, who fled underground and deeper after a cataclysm for which they were also blamed. Underwater, they found a new world inhabited by turtles, tritons, crocodiles, krakens, and underwater spiders. Being peaceful by nature, they were able to tame or befriend the underwater inhabitants. And even after they encountered the Thing, they were able to coexist.
