As for this patch, I think that it's still possible to play, and even to overcome the discomfort, as long as people are playing! But if the quorum decreases, that will be a catastrophe.
It's clear that the quorum is the most important thing, and it shouldn't be sacrificed under any circumstances. But the issue is how the changes are presented. You can clearly explain the benefits of the transition so that people don't think it's being done to favor a few obscure individuals. If there is strong opposition, you can play some tournaments with the patch for a while, and some with the morality restriction (like now for the 4th game on VV and Equi). People will get used to it, and time will tell what is more convenient for the majority and which option provides a larger quorum. This is where the organizers' function comes in: to unite and reconcile. I hope you understand the hint? :) The main thing is not to go to extremes, such as "I'm so used to it," or, conversely, "Let's do everything in a new way."
