because not everyone will rush to the store to buy a DVD for a virtual tournament, especially when it costs around 15 dollars (or more?).
I sincerely sympathize with players who have to deal with such prices. Is this kind of outrageousness happening in Ukraine? I bought the Platinum Edition (i.e., the complete version of Heroes 1, 2, and 3) a year and a half ago for 250 rubles. That's a little over 10 dollars now, and it was even less back then, but it wasn't a DVD, it was 3 discs.
Also, if you don't have traffic limitations, you can download it, just like the English version. There are plenty of places to find it, I know for sure because I found them myself, but then I decided to buy it on principle.
I play on the Platinum Edition myself, but I agree that it should be allowed to play in English, because not everyone is ready to overcome their habits (and sometimes just plain laziness) and give up English. But just as "Paris is worth a mass," a good quorum is worth small changes to the rules and, perhaps, some initial difficulties.
