The song "Wings" is not by the band "Amatori," but by the band "Catharsis" (so it's just a cover). In my opinion, Catharsis currently has the most technically skilled lineup in Russia. Zhilyakov's vocals are, in my opinion, a benchmark; it's not like Samovata (from the band "Epidemia") with his wailing (he just doesn't have a very masculine voice). Mishin is definitely the best guitarist; what he does is beyond the capabilities of many even experienced guitarists. He can even play a flute solo while at it (and, which I particularly appreciate, he never brags about his skills). With Polyakov (rhythm guitar), you can compare him to the veteran Khlstinin (although he's been included in the 100 worst guitarists of the 20th century). Their drummer isn't particularly outstanding, but that's not necessary for a band playing melodic metal (you need crazy drummers with excellent control of the double bass pedal in black and death metal). I would call the keyboardist their weakest link. Yulia plays well, but she really declined in the last album (not a single solo), and she used to be so good. They have an instrumental track called "Tarantula"; you can listen to how she shreds on it. That's all about Catharsis. Cradle of Filth... I have very mixed feelings about this band. I used to listen to them a lot (especially because of the keyboards, kj1313 +1 for "Nymphetamine"). But now I'm a believer, so I deleted all Cradle of Filth songs from my computer, except for "Nymphetamine," "Her Ghost in the Fog" (kj, you should listen to it, it's a good song), and the cover of Maiden's "Hallowed Be the Name." I don't know what to say about Moonspell. But Cradle of Filth was practically the first in this genre (it all started back in 1985 when they played as an opening act for Sabbath at some festival), so they definitely deserve respect. As for the quality, I don't know much about black metal, but according to my friends (who are very knowledgeable about metal music), Cradle of Filth is a benchmark for black metal. I don't know much about their lineup, but their keyboardist has changed three times, which suggests that the band is unstable and, in my opinion, will last for about 4 more years. Undoubtedly, without them, perhaps everything in domestic metal music would have gone differently. But now, it's pure commerce. You think, why this reunion with Kipelov for one concert? It's just to make some money from the fans. Not only have they gone commercial themselves, but they also brought Epidemia with them. Compare their first three albums ("On the Edge of Time," "Will to Live," "The Mystery of the Magic Land") and the last three ("Elven Manuscript" (both parts) and "Life in Twilight"). Do you know what the difference is? The last three albums were recorded on the Aria-Records label. "Life in Twilight" is simply a remastered version of old songs. "Elven Manuscript" (the first part) is undoubtedly a significant event, a metal opera in Russia, who would have thought? It almost doesn't show the influence of Khlstinin and Dubinin on Epidemia yet. But what is the second part of the manuscript? The general directors of Aria-Records are not fools; they read the news and browse the internet, so they clearly saw that they had a target audience in the form of thousands of girls who were delighted by the romance about the tear and the ice rider. And what happened? The result was a sugary album that crunches like sugar sand in your teeth – that's one thing. They used to have problems with the keyboards, but now they have a lot, even more. So they crammed in a lot of effects, so the album can almost be called electronic. It's a pity... But it all started so well. For now, I'll take my leave; I need to go to school.
