Nival Interactive will release Heroes of Might & Magic V: Gold Edition – a special edition that includes the original Heroes of Might & Magic V game, the official expansions "Heroes of Might & Magic V: Hammers of Fate" and "Heroes of Might & Magic V: Tribes of the East," and additional maps, including a mission based on the game Dark Messiah of Might and Magic. The special edition will go on sale on December 21, 2007. All rights to distribute Heroes of Might & Magic V: Gold Edition in Russia, the CIS, and the Baltic countries belong to the company "1C."

The Heroes of Might & Magic universe has always been particularly appealing to Russian players, but with the development of the long-awaited fifth installment being handed over to the Russian studio Nival Interactive, it has acquired the status of a true national game. To date, more than one million copies of Heroes of Might & Magic V, including expansions and special editions of the game, have been sold in Russia, the Baltic countries, and the CIS.
