Completed this scenario, Inferno, Grok, Hero difficulty.
WalkthroughTook the neutral city on day 10, then developed normally. Grok's skills: logistics, war machines, Chaos, defense. I took Chaos because I got lucky with spellcasting from artifacts and level-ups. On the fourth week, Grol and Inga appeared, both heroes with high danger. From this point, a clever maneuvering of Grok between the two enemies begins. And 10 or 15 loads later, what was intended happened: Grol killed Inga on his turn and lost about a third of his army. Grok returned home, learned town portal, and in two attacks with 14 demons, killed Grol.

Now it would be good to learn Darkness (there is a mentor), but the guild has blindness and unholy. No new enemies have appeared yet, so through loading I tried moving across the map in different directions and found a treasury with vampirism. Learned vampirism, removed war machines from the mentor, but took Darkness and unlock secret. Irbet and... Grok appeared! Set off on a sea voyage, and as I later saw in the tavern, Irbet killed the enemy Grok. Returned home since Irbet was already near the castle. She feared Grok, but there was no way to kill her without heavy losses. Attacking and retreating is inefficient due to cold steel. And soon other enemies will arrive...

Further I tried playing in different ways, but the best solution turned out to be simultaneously simple and counterintuitive: sit in the castle for two weeks and skip turns. Watched a high-drama movie of how Helmar and Vaishan arrived; Helmar killed Irbet, but Vaishan went on a pursuit and avenged her by killing Helmar :) That is, only Vaishan with medium danger remains among the enemies. Went to the mentor, removed Chaos and took Light (previously learned regeneration in the temple, and resurrection in utopia).

On day 78, broke through the demon garrison with a full army without losses. Destroying the garrison means that enemy heroes of this faction will no longer appear. Karli appeared (medium danger and has shackles). On day 82, broke through the Dungeon garrison without losses. Grok headed to the dwarf garrison; while he was rushing there, Karli killed Vaishan. On day 90, broke through the dwarf garrison without losses. Found a library, bought berserk and submission. Karli attacked Grok in the castle, an easy fight, victory without losses. This is day 99, all active enemies are defeated!

Temporarily took mentorship, trained Marbas so he could visit utopia. With Grok, I collected joining demon squads and completed quests. In the quests, of course, I used the additional description file, but first I thought about it myself. Regarding "protect yourself before the fire wall," I thought that the same as taking the fire protection skill, and regarding "momentum for jumping over the abyss," that visiting the stables was required. The correct solutions seem less logical; there are no hints in the game itself, so it's good that the author made a separate description.

Next, you need to defeat the enemy heroes guarding the blue crystal, each of whom is an elemental of one of the elements. Against the air, water, and fire ones, I fought with full armies; against the earth one, I agreed to play without temptresses and archdemons, in which case the guardian's army is half as large. The tactic everywhere is standard for demons: imps drain all mana, then we play through Darkness, and at the end, we resurrect everyone. All four guardians were defeated without losses; scenario completed in 193 days.

I still haven't decided for myself whether this map is difficult or not. For some reason, the war with active enemies left me with a feeling that everything went easily, although I used loads quite often. Of the final guardians, only the air elemental was difficult. In terms of design, the map is unusual because both levels are dungeons. The scenario is interesting and memorable.
Many thanks for the map!

Successfully completing this scenario became an important result for me in terms of my overall play in Heroes 5. Two years ago, I registered on the forum as a beginner map maker and as a player who knew the game through the developer campaigns. I remember how incredibly difficult the "Two Sisters" scenario was for me on Hero. That was when I first learned what kind of difficulty exists in fan scenarios and decided to understand the game more seriously. Starting with "Price of Love," I began to describe the walkthrough of each scenario in detail to clearly formulate for myself what problems the map posed and how I solved them.

Even back then, I had heard of MasteR as someone who created the most difficult maps for Heroes 5; I planned to try and beat them when I played better. And now I have won all three scenarios by this author that can be won playing as a faction that is sometimes inconvenient at the start but always my favorite :) There is also "Sunset of Darkness," but demons cannot be chosen there. Even now, I don't know all the tactics in this game and haven't played the campaigns except for the standard ones and "Grey Alliance." But over these two years, I have learned a lot of new things and come to perceive Heroes 5 completely differently. And once again, I want to thank all the authors whose maps I have completed.
