Saran was the name given to the best archer in the Clan of Strife. Fierce and savage, he crushed hordes of mountain monsters and forest creatures with accurate volleys of crossbow bolts. The secret of crossbow making has long been lost. Saran's weapon is one of the few surviving examples.

Saran can be persuaded to join a squad, but only as part of important missions.
