In the House of Chieftains of the Strife Clan, the council met around a round table, symbolizing the equality of all people. But for quite some time now, real power in the settlement has been divided among three notable figures: chieftain Scalak the Gloomy, his deputy Corvis, and Captain of the Guard Almus. The other members of the council merely echoed the decisions of this powerful trio. Equality had long since vanished, leaving behind a division between those who are ready to die now and those who will be forced to die now.

If one was brave enough, anyone could appeal directly to the council. Whether they would receive an answer or not was simply a matter of luck.
